It is my pleasure to invite you to the 4th Unani Day celebration and International Conference on Unani Medicine being organized by the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine on 11th & 12th February 2020 at New Delhi. 11th February has been designated for observation of Unani Day every year. The theme of this international conference is Unani Medicine - Towards Achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG-3) of “Good Health & Well-Being”. Some of the major challenges faced in achieving SDG -3 are maternal and child mortality, epidemics, emergence of chronic diseases, environmental and climate related changes and lack of access to quality health care. The conference aims to explore the potential of Unani Medicine in reducing the burden of disease and decreasing the related morbidity and mortality. The programme of the conference has been structured to provide an understanding about Unani System of Medicine as an affordable and accessible holistic health care system, which can play a significant role in promotion of good health across all sections of society. The conference will have dedicated sessions on Unani Medicine for Global Health, Mother and Child Health Care, Mental Health, Geriatric Care and Regimenal Therapy, Recent Researches in Unani Medicine and Medical Tourism.

A galaxy of experts and luminaries from the field of health sciences across the globe will share their knowledge, experiences and innovations. There would be participation from industry, academia and research organizations engaged in development of Unani Medicine and related health sciences.

The Unani Day celebration would inter-alia include the conferment of annual AYUSH Awards for Unani Medicine, wherein awards will be conferred for excellence in different categories, viz. ‘Best Research Paper’, ‘Young Scientist’, ‘Best Teacher’ and ‘Lifetime Achievement’. An exhibition of industry and academia will also be organised.

The event will provide a platform to discuss wide range of topics which would help in developing knowledge and understanding Unani System of Medicine and its contribution to health and well-being.
