  • Vision:
    To strive for excellence and global leadership in the field of Unani Medicine by comprehensive research for quality assured and cost-effective products to prevent, manage and cure various diseases

  • Mission:
    To develop CCRUM into a dynamic, vibrant and model research organization for undertaking, coordinating, aiding and promoting research in Unani Medicine
    To bring-up modern scientific knowledge technology to explore classical Unani scientific treasures following prevalent scientific methods through inter disciplinary approach
    To attain global leadership in research for treatment and prevention of emerging diseases of public health importance

  • Key Objectives:
    Formulation of aims and patterns of research on scientific lines in Unani Medicin
    To undertake research or any other programmes in Unani Medicine
    Prosecution of and assistance in research and propagation of knowledge and experimental measures generally in connection with the causation, mode of spread and prevention of diseases
    To initiate, aid, develop and co-ordinate scientific research on different aspects, fundamental and applied, of Unani Medicine, and to promote and assist institutions of research for the study of diseases, their prevention, causation and remedy
    To prepare, print, publish and exhibit any papers, posters, pamphlets, periodicals and books for furtherance of the objectives of the Council and to contribute to such literature

  • Key Activities:
    Established in 1978, the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Headquartered in New Delhi, the CCUM develops, promotes, supports, implements and disseminates scientific research in Unani Medicine both nationally and globally. The research and development activities at the CCRUM are conducted through a network of 23 centres. The areas of research include survey and cultivation of medicinal plants, drug standardization, clinical research and literary research. The CCRUM also conducts research in collaborationwith certain leading national and international scientific institutions. Research is conducted in extramural as well as intramural mode. Besides, research-oriented health services, public health initiatives information, education and communication activities are also undertaken.
